LAKE UNTERSEE

by JOE WAECHTER

Summary

September 11th-September 27th, 2014
Illusion Theatre (528 Hennepin Avenue)

Rocky, a troubled teenager, longs to leave his divorced parents and their dysfunctional relationships behind. Stuck between his mother, a has-been novelist, and his equally oblivious father, Rocky begins to receive love letters written in snow. With nowhere else to turn, he embarks on the adventure of a lifetime to Antarctica’s Lake Untersee, where the love of his life is trapped beneath layers and layers of ancient ice.

LAKE UNTERSEE has been developed with the support of Inkwell, Source Festival, and Portland Stage Company, where it was the winner of Clauder Competition Gold prize.

This activity is funded, in part, by the generous support of The Jerome Foundation and by the voters of Minnesota through grants from the Minnesota State Arts Board and the Metropolitan Regional Arts Council, thanks to a legislative appropriation from the arts and cultural heritage fund.
